Getting started

How to Join Mississippi Insurance Alliance

Four steps, no obligation, and a straight answer about whether membership fits your agency.

MIA is seeking a limited number of quality agencies in Mississippi. There is no required agency profile — the common thread among members is that they want to grow and remain independent.

The process

What Happens, in Order

Step 1 — Start a Conversation

Call (601) 487-9986 or send the form on this page. You will speak with Hunter Runnels or Ladd Bratcher. Nothing is shared with carriers at this stage and there is no obligation.

Step 2 — Review Your Agency

We look at the lines you write, the markets you have, the volume you produce and where you want the agency to be in five years. This is where it becomes clear whether membership would actually help.

Step 3 — See the Terms

You get the membership agreement, the compensation structure and the perpetuation formula in writing, so you and your advisors can read them properly before deciding.

Step 4 — Join and Get to Work

Once the agreement is signed we arrange market access, introduce you to the Master Agency’s carriers and get you into the training, meetings and support that come with membership.

Who it suits

Agencies That Tend to Benefit Most

Membership spans a wide range of agency types and sizes.

  • Established independent agencies that need more markets or better compensation
  • Smaller and rural agencies struggling to meet carrier volume requirements
  • Agencies with no perpetuation or succession plan in place
  • Captive agents and direct writers moving to independence
  • Life and financial services agencies adding property and casualty
  • Producers without a vested interest in the book they write

Questions We Will Probably Ask

What lines do you write?

Personal, commercial, or both — and roughly how the book splits between them. It tells us which of the Master Agency’s carriers are relevant to you.

Which markets do you have now?

Your existing direct appointments usually stay in place. Knowing them helps us see what membership would add rather than duplicate.

What is holding the agency back?

Most owners name one of three things: not enough markets, little or no profit sharing because of volume, or no perpetuation plan. All three are what the network exists to address.

What do you want in five years?

Growth, a succession plan, or a cleaner exit — the answer changes what membership should be structured to do for you.

You can also call the team directly: Hunter Runnels at (601) 487-9979 or Ladd Bratcher at (601) 487-0252.
